Share Privateers Head Into Postseason On High Note

The St. John's Global Warranty Privateers finished up their regular season on a high note this past weeked, getting a sweep of the Central IcePak in games Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, and finished in second place in the league standings, behind only the St. John's Maple Leafs.
Saturday, the Privateers got goals from Adam Nolan, David Penney, Brandon Lucas and Tim St. Croix, while getting 20 saves from netminder Joel Abbott, to pick up a hard fought 4-2 win over the 'Pak. Brad Connors, Chris Murphy and Abbott all had assists as well.
Sunday, St. John's scored four goals in the second period, but managed to hang on after Central potted three in the third, and picked up a 4-3 win.
Max French scored twice, and St. John's got single markers from Mitch McGrath and Penney. Jordan Yaremchuk made 32 saves in the win.
The playoffs begin this coming Saturday night at 8:00pm, as the Privateers host the Western Kings. Game two will take place Sunday morning at 10:00am. Both games will commence from the Goulds Arena.
